The society aims to encourage and support its members in their interest providing the opportunity to benefit from the support of other fellow photographers and to draw upon a wide knowledge base. This is one of the oldest established Art Societies in South Wales and features a permanent exhibition in the historic Old Porthcawl Police Station, situated in the centre of the main shopping street (above the museum).

We have five exhibitions a year, Acrylic and Oils, Pastel and Drawing, Mixed Media and Crafts, Watercolour, Mixed Media. We also have demos on all different media throughout the year, none members welcome. We also have about four trips a year again anyone is welcome.

Porthcawl Museum is located in the Old Police Station, which was used as a working police station from 1877 to its closure in 1974. This listed building still has the original charge room which now houses the Porthcawl Tourist Information Centre.

Porthcawl Art Society
*Meeting Place*	Meetings are held every Wednesday afternoon and Thursday evenings all year round at the Old Police Station Gallery, John Street, Porthcawl, West Glamorgan, South Wales, UK
*Activities*	Regular workshops are held in the Gallery of the listed building known as the Old Police Station in Porthcawl. The society is among the oldest established active groups in South Wales. The Gallery is open to the public most days from Easter until the end of October and then weekends only. With five major exhibitions of new works each year, members are kept busy and an ever-improving standard of work is produced. The result is a constantly changing display within the Gallery which encourages regular visits by the public. Demonstrations in all mediums are a regular feature with professional artists. These have proved so popular that it has been necessary to hire a larger hall to accommodate members and visitors. Field trips are organised and well supported. Craft is also a feature of the Society and Fairs are held in the Spring and for Christmas.
